The Catalysts

jc's medical team have been pioneers in the advancement in cancer research.

Dr. Jeffrey Bradley, former Radiation Oncologist and Professor at Washington University School of Medicine, played an instrumental role in the Proton Beam Therapy Center at Siteman Cancer Center and his work has set precedents for the use of proton therapy to treat cancer. He has been recognized for his contriubutions to Radiation Oncology. He has since been named Executive Vice President at Emory University’s Winship Department of Radiation Oncology and is now currently serving as director of Proton Radiation Therapy at Penn Medicine.

Dr. Ramaswamy Govindan, Oncologist and Professor at Washington University School of Medicine, continues to improve lung cancer treatment while he shares his knowledge of genome research. He was jc's rock. Not only did he provide outstanding medical care, but he gave him faith. Dr. Govindan has received accolades for his genome research and he is well published in his field of expertise. His cancer genome research led to the FDA approval of the drug, sotorasib, to attack mutation effects in a common form non-small cell lung cancer. He currently serves as Associate Director of Translational Research at Siteman Cancer Center and as associate chief of the Division of Oncology at Washington University School of Medicine.

We are so grateful for being blessed with two phenomenal physicians treating jc during his fight. We want to help others find the medical care they need and deserve. We recognize there are many physicians nationwide, like the two amazing men who treated jc, who share the goal of making great strides in cancer research.

"there is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something tomorrow."

In sitting through treatment with jc, we witnessed the impact firsthand on him, on other cancer patients, on their families, on caregivers. We understand how difficult this can be for everyone involved. We have been in free lodging facilities for cancer patients such as Hope Lodge providing meals, yoga classes and social events interacting with the residents during the time of their cancer treatment. Using money raised, we have been supporting cancer genome research, distributing technology and backpacks containing a beanie, blanket, toiletries, journal & coloring books to cancer patients and we created a financial assistance program for cancer patients pursuing fertility preservation due to their diagnoses. We work with St. Louis Children's Hospital, Cardinal Kids Cancer Center, Children’s Mercy Hospital, Cardinal Glennon and St. Lukes, while also supporting cancer patients staying at Hope Lodge while undergoing treatment. Stay updated on our efforts on our "Our Work" Page.

In summary, our purpose is twofold -

To contribute to the funding of physicians making the advances in cancer investigations while also make our presence known in the facilities where cancer patients are being treated; bringing smiles and providing whatever goods and services we can to these families to make their days brighter while battling cancer.
